Peepal Tree Foundation conducted with the Slum kids of Sai Basti at Najafgarh, Delhi at the Sweet Home Children’s Village on the 9th of January 2019. There were over 50 kids between the age of 6 years to 13 years. We picked ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle translated in Hindi in our Storytelling session followed by a Therapeutic Art session by Shivangi Patel. It was such a revelation to see children, who never went to school drew up and coloured them so well. While the story session was on, there was absolute silence among kids, completely engrossed in listening to the story.
Later we donated coloring books to children that was earlier received by us from AR Rahman Foundation.
